Whether you prefer a leisurely ramble in beautiful countryside, an invigorating cycle ride or e-bike tour on Red Riding Hood Country cycle track (which follows the course of the old railway line, so there are no steep hills to climb!), or an exhilarating trip by motorbike or open-topped car through the spacious rolling Knüll Hills - the fairytale Little Red Riding Hood Country region is the ideal place for it. There is a new breathtaking scenic view of fields, woods, hills and valleys around every bend, with brilliant fields of oilseed rape in spring and the riotous colours of the autumn leaves in an “Indian Summer” to rival New England’s.

The new Little Red Riding Hood Country cycle track, which follows the route of the old railway line, runs right through Oberaula.

Our guests can hire bicycles and e-bikes for a small fee.

Oberaula is an ideal starting point for motorcycle tours of the Knüll, Rhön and Vogelsberg Hills, to the Edersee Lake, or even Eisenach in neighbouring Thuringia.
